Pre-installation Instructions for Clients
-
Upon completion of the cabinet production, we will communicate with you approximately 1 week in advance to set a date for the installation. You must keep in mind that some situations out of our control may occur thus forcing us to postpone your installation. If this is the case, we will advise you as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for days of work lost due to such unforeseeable situations.
-
Prepare the final payment either by a cheque written in the name of Theo Mineault to be handed to the installer upon completion of the installation or by credit card, as prescribed by the Terms of Payment of the quotation.
-
Clear laneway and do not park in front of the house.
-
Clear interior and exterior of sites where work will be performed (i.e. : snow removal in the winter).
-
Clear a workspace of approx. 200 sq ft in the kitchen.
-
Remove old cabinets.
-
Perform all plumbing and electrical work.
-
Move all appliances out of working space. Theo Mineault employees are not responsible for moving or installing appliances (please see attached documentation).
-
Remove and protect any furniture or fixtures that might be damaged during installation (Ex: kitchen table, china cabinet).
-
Set aside and clear a sheltered space in case weather does not permit installers to cut materials outside. A garage would be ideal considering the amount of dust and debris that would be produced.
-
Ensure that there are sufficient vertical studs to securely attach cabinets to the walls. Supplementary fees could be incurred if additional bracing is required.
-
Ensure that there is a supply of electricity to all work areas.
-
On all counters and cabinetry, only marks (scrapes, dings, etc.) visible from a distance of 4 ft-0 in. in normal lighting are considered imperfections.
-
There are no guarantees for interior walls; paint touch-ups might be necessary after installation. We will take every precaution to minimize the occurrence.
-
The installer will not repair any joints or paint around the cabinets and cannot be held responsible for light scratches.
-
We cannot guarantee that the new cabinets will cover the paint, ceramic or floor demarcations of the old cabinets. Touch-ups may be necessary.
-
Counters and cabinetry will be installed in accordance with National Building Code standards.
